Paid $50 for a foam core insert for my board game box and it didn't fit right

I bought an organizer insert for Terraforming Mars off Etsy thinking it would save me setup time. The damn thing was cut wrong and warped the box lid when I closed it. Anyone else had luck with DIY foam core instead of buying pre-made ones?

I've actually had way better luck just grabbing some foam core from the dollar store and cutting it myself for Terraforming Mars. The key is measuring the interior dimensions 3 times before you cut, and using a sharp blade so the foam doesn't crumble. Plus you can customize the compartments for your specific expansions later if you get them.
