Sleeving a full Catan set runs you maybe 30 to 40 bucks with penny sleeves, which is way less than a new board. It also keeps the cards from getting marked up, and a beat up set is the main reason people end up buying a replacement anyway. So you saved money in the long run, you just did it in the harder order.
