Pro tip: I found a way to organize my game nights that actually gets people to show up
For months, my group in Columbus kept flaking, so I started sending a Doodle poll with three specific dates and a clear start time of 7 PM. Last week, all six people confirmed and we finally got to play through all of Root. Has anyone else found a simple trick that improved attendance for their regular game group?

What do you do when some folks in the group just won't commit to a date? I had to learn the hard way that being super clear works best. Like @sandra693 said, a set night is golden for a core group, but for my wider circle, I send a poll with one clear game and a firm "need 4 players to run" rule. It puts a little friendly pressure on people to decide, so you're not waiting on maybes.

Doodle polls never worked for my crew, they just ignored them. We switched to a set night every week, like Thursdays are always game night. People remember it now and plan around it.
