That moment I realized my game group was skipping rules wrong for years
Last Tuesday at Tim's house, we were halfway through a 4-player game of Terraforming Mars when someone flipped the rulebook to settle a debate. Turns out we had been skipping the entire phase where players trade cards with each other. I had to stop the game and admit to everyone that I'd been teaching it wrong for the 2 years I've owned the copy. Has anyone else discovered a rules mistake that completely changed how a game played?

Ugh that's rough but also kinda sweet that everyone was still having fun anyway. My group played Catan for like a year without the robber moving every time someone rolled a 7, we just had everyone discard if they had over 7 cards. It totally changed the game once we finally read the rule right.

Guess it doesn't matter that much if you're still having a good time.
