Appreciation post: found out a 2 inch pig stops about 40% of the crud in a 6 inch line and it saved my Tuesday
Was pulling a brush through a 6 inch header on a package boiler over in Gary and the thing came back weird, like it was dragging on something halfway down. Ran a camera and there sat a pig from the last hydro that nobody logged. Pulled it and the brush went through clean, but here's the number that got me: the flow test on that line came up 40% better after it was out. I'd been chasing low flow on that unit for two shifts and it was one little foam plug the whole time. Anybody else keep a log sheet for pigs so this doesn't happen, or do you just mark the pipe with soapstone?
