Hot take: The 1920s boiler at the old mill museum in Lowell is still the most solid setup I've ever seen.

The original tube sheets and stays on that Babcock & Wilcox unit looked cleaner than some of the work I saw on a new install just last month.

Oh man, that's not even a hot take, it's just a fact. They really don't make them like they used to, and it's kind of sad. Seeing a century-old piece of iron that's cleaner than something put in last Tuesday says it all. I guess pride in work went out of style with the steam whistle.

Come on @lee_butler, you telling me you'd rather fix a hundred year old boiler than a modern one? Some of that old stuff was just overbuilt junk.
