That near miss with a 200 psi steam line at the refinery
I was swapping out a valve on a feedwater heater at the Marathon plant in Gary last month. Forgot to double check the bleed-off was fully cracked. When I loosened the last bolt, that steam hit my glove and I knew I messed up. Grabbed my backup wrench and backed off fast before it fully blew. Got slapped with a hot spray but no real burns. Ended up spending an extra 2 hours purging the line proper. Anyone else had a close call from rushing a lockdown?
