Gary's actually in northwest Indiana, not where most people think it is.

Yeah you're right about Gary being in northwest Indiana, I always get that mixed up too. People hear "Gary" and think it's just another Chicago suburb but it's really its own thing up there near the lake. If you're ever driving through that area, don't take the wrong exit or you'll end up in some sketchy spots real quick. I've been through there a few times and learned to plan my route ahead so I don't get lost. Make sure your gas tank is full and your phone is charged before you head into that part of the state, trust me on that one.
