Hit 1,000 page repairs this week without realizing it

I was flipping through my job log from the last 3 years, just tidying up the workshop, and counted 1,000 book repairs I have done since I started binding professionally. That number caught me off guard because I never track milestones, I just fix what comes in. Most of those were torn spines and detached covers, the usual public library drop-offs, but about 120 were those old family Bibles people bring in with crumbling hinges. The thousandth one turned out to be a 1962 paperback romance that someone wanted rebound in leather, which felt absurd but also kind of perfect. Has anyone else kept a running count of their repairs and hit a number that made them stop and stare at their own hands?

The leather-bound romance paperback thing made me laugh, I heard a podcast once about people rebinding weird modern books just because they love them so much. It's kinda beautiful that your 1,000th was something so unexpected.
