I finally gave that 'quick-dry' PVA glue a shot on a leather-bound journal

It dried so fast the leather puckered before I could even smooth it out, totally ruined the cover. Anyone know a slower-setting adhesive for full-grain goat skin?

Oh man, that's the worst feeling... I feel your pain. It's exactly like @thomas_roberts was saying, the name is a total trap. I tried a "strong hold" spray adhesive for a collage once and it just made everything sticky forever, never actually stuck down. For leather, I've had way better luck with a simple white glue thinned with a tiny bit of water. It gives you a good minute or two to move things around before it sets.

Ugh, why do they even call it that? I had the same thing happen with a wallet repair, just a total mess. I switched to a basic craft glue and it gives you way more time to work.

Isn't it crazy how many products are just named the exact opposite of what they actually do? Like @linda335 said, something called a quick fix glue that dries in two seconds is just setting you up to fail. I mean it feels like half the stuff at the store is like that now, where the name is a straight up lie to make you buy it. Maybe it's just me but I've totally given up on those specialty glues and just use the cheap stuff too.
