My linen thread broke mid-sewing on a 400-page text block
I was sewing a text block last Tuesday and about halfway through, my linen thread just snapped. I've been using the same brand for years without issue, but this spool came from a different supplier. Turns out the thread had a rough spot that wore thin at the needle eye. I learned to run my thread through my fingers before starting to feel for any weak patches. Anyone else had a thread fail on them like that?

Yeah that happened to me once with a cheap spool of thread I picked up at a craft fair. Felt like a total rookie snapping thread in the middle of a big project. Now I give every new spool a quick tug test before I start using it.

Did you ever have that moment where you hear a loud SNAP and just freeze, hoping nobody saw it? I brought a whole project to a halt once with some bargain spool from a dollar store, felt like the thread had it out for me personally.
