One customer's comment on my endpapers made me rethink everything

I had a lady tell me my endpapers looked like a cheap wrapping paper job, which stung because I'd been using the same glossy stuff for years. Switched to a matte cotton blend from a local shop in Portland for my last five books, and the difference is night and day. Anyone else had a random critique that actually improved their work?

That wrapping paper comment would've made me defensive too, but honestly it changed how I see my own work.
