Shoutout to the old library book that taught me about spine repair
Fixing its torn spine taught me that grain direction is key for a good repair.

My 1998 copy of Jurassic Park taught me that lesson the hard way. The spine repair looked great until it cracked like a fossil.

How did you line up the grain? I had a similar one and used a thin line of fabric glue, then reinforced the inside spine with some book tape. It's held up for years now.

Whoa, fabric glue can get brittle over time. @keith279, you want proper bookbinding glue. It stays flexible.
