Spent 6 hours last Saturday on a spine that just would not sit square
I was casing in a rebind of an old hymnal and the spine kept twisting no matter how many times I pressed it. Turned out my backing boards were warped from sitting in the garage in Phoenix heat, so every press was slightly off and I kept chasing the twist instead of the boards. How do you all store your backing boards so they stay flat?
Oh wow, I used to just lean mine against the garage wall and call it good. Then I had the same problem as you and it cost me a whole weekend, so now they live flat on a shelf inside the house where the temp stays steady. Heat and leaning are the two things that killed mine.
