Vent: A client in Portland gave me a 1920s hymnal to repair and said 'just make it feel loved again'
That one line, while I was looking at the torn spine and foxed pages in my shop last month, completely shifted how I approach every restoration job now, has anyone else had a simple request change their whole process?

Make it feel loved again" is a great way to put it. That phrase makes you think about the book's history, not just its parts.

Reminds me of fixing up old furniture.

You ever think about that? I used to just see old books as worn out and maybe a little sad. But you're right, that phrase does change how you look at them. I never thought about it that way before.
