Vent: My bone folder snapped in half on a commission last night

I was scoring the spine on a leather-bound journal and it just gave out. Had to finish the job with a butter knife from my kitchen. Anyone have a brand they trust for heavy-duty scoring?

Honestly, using a butter knife sounds like a solid backup plan. Maybe bone folders are just overrated for that kind of work.

Totally get that. My old credit card worked great for scoring paper in a pinch, honestly. The rounded corner was perfect for not tearing anything, and it was always right there in my wallet. Fancier tools are nice, but sometimes the simple stuff just gets the job done.

My library card from 2012 was my go-to for years. That worn plastic edge made the cleanest folds on letters.
