Always thought moss was a pest until I found a patch growing on a rotting log in the backyard

Spent an hour watching how it held moisture and created a tiny ecosystem for bugs and seedlings, and now I'm seriously considering adding a moss bed to my shaded garden corner - anyone else change their mind about a plant they used to hate?

You ever notice how the stuff we think is useless or annoying at first actually ends up being the most interesting? It's like when you start ignoring the weeds in your yard and realize the bees are all over them, or how dirt on your car kinda tells a story of where you've been. Moss is the same way, it's not trying to ruin your lawn, it's just doing its thing in the corner nobody else wants. Makes me wonder how many other things we're quick to hate on that actually have a whole world going on.
