Found my old plant journal from three years ago in a box

I was cleaning out the garage last week and found a notebook where I tracked my first fiddle leaf fig. Back then in my old apartment, I wrote down every single watering and leaf drop, worried I'd kill it. Now that same plant is over six feet tall in my living room, and I barely think about it. Anyone else have a plant that went from high maintenance to just part of the furniture?

Finding that old journal must have been a neat moment. It makes me wonder, did your care routine actually change, or did the plant just get tougher as it grew? My peace lily was the same way, needing constant attention until one day it just... worked. What was the biggest shift for you, the plant's maturity or your own confidence?

Hah, that reminds me of my spider plant drama. I was convinced it hated me until I forgot to water it for like three weeks. Turns out it just needed me to chill out and leave it alone most of the time. The confidence came from finally ignoring it, lmao.

Oh, that's a great question. My friend had a fiddle leaf fig that nearly died from overwatering. She was so nervous about it, checking the soil every other day. Then she went on a two week trip and just left it. Came back to it looking better than ever. I think the break gave the plant time to dry out properly and gave her a break from fussing over it. The biggest shift was her learning to step back, honestly.
