Had to pick between a fancy grow light or a cheap one last month

I was setting up my indoor herb garden for winter and my wallet said no to the $200 Spider Farmer light. So I grabbed a $40 no-name LED panel off Amazon instead. Now my basil is all leggy and pale, barely 3 weeks in. Should I just bite the bullet and return this thing for the real deal, or is there a middle ground light that actually works?

Oh man, I feel your pain on this one. Ive been burned by cheap lights before too, its honestly the worst when your plants start stretching out like that. There is definitely a middle ground though, you dont have to spend $200 to get decent results. The Mars Hydro TS600 is usually around $80-90 and actually works really well for herbs and small setups. Just make sure whatever you get has a real LED chip and not some knockoff, and keep it closer to the plants than you think you need to.

@jenniferwells How close exactly are we talking for the TS600?
