I thought rooting pothos cuttings in just tap water was a myth, but my kitchen windowsill proved me wrong
I always figured people who said plain tap water worked fine for cuttings were just lucky, so I kept buying rooting hormone powder at the garden center on 5th Street. Back in March I finally got lazy and stuck 6 pothos cuttings in a mason jar of tap water on my windowsill, no hormone, no fancy setup. Four of them had roots poking out within 18 days, and the other two followed a week later. Now I have more pothos than friends to give them to. Does the hormone powder actually make a difference for anything besides woody stuff, or have I been wasting money this whole time?
