Killed my monstera by moving it 4 feet to a brighter spot in my Boston apartment
So last month I moved my 3 year old monstera from the corner of my living room to right next to the south facing window in my Boston apartment thinking it needed more sun, and within 9 days the leaves had those crispy brown patches all over them. I panicked and moved it back to the corner and started watering it less, and only the two newest leaves survived. My question is how do you all figure out the right light spot for a plant without frying it first, do you just slowly edge it closer week by week or what?
Feel your pain on this one, monstera drama is the worst. Mine did the same thing when I moved it near a window, and I lost like half the leaves before I figured out it was just too much direct sun all at once. Next time I'd edge it closer over a couple weeks instead of making the jump in one go, since big light changes shock them fast.
