My cactus confession caused an awkward silence
Was at a friend's gathering and they showed off their new cactus. I said it looked like a prickly pear, but it was actually a barrel cactus. Everyone went quiet, and my friend just smiled. I guess not all cacti are created equal.

Barrel cacti and prickly pears are totally different up close, but I get the mistake from a distance. I mixed up a snake plant with a aloe vera once and my buddy just sighed. People get weirdly attached to their plants, like a wrong name ruins their whole vibe. That awkward hush just hangs in the air...
