My fiddle leaf fig went from 3 leaves to 15 after I moved it 4 feet away from the window
It was in a drafty spot in my Chicago apartment for a year and barely grew. Giving it bright, indirect light instead of direct sun made it explode in about 5 months.

Wow, that's such a familiar struggle (and win!).

My fiddle leaf fig in my Boston apartment did the EXACT same thing. It was in a south facing window and just sat there for a YEAR. I moved it about 5 feet to the corner near a big east window instead and it went from 2 sad leaves to 12 in about 4 months. The direct sunlight was just too harsh and it got all crispy. I also started rotating it a quarter turn every time I watered it so all sides get light. Now it's pushing out new growth every couple weeks and I swear it looks happier. Moving it that tiny distance was a TOTAL game changer for me too.

Mine did the same thing when I moved it from a south-facing window to a spot with filtered light. The leaves were getting scorched and it just stopped putting out new growth. A few feet back from the glass made all the difference. Now it pushes out a new leaf every couple of weeks like clockwork.
