PSA: Stop using cheap potting soil for citrus trees

I used a regular $5 bag from the hardware store for my Meyer lemon last spring and it turned yellow and dropped fruit in 2 months. Switched to a gritty cactus mix with extra perlite and now it's covered in blossoms after 6 weeks in the same pot. Has anyone else seen a big difference just from changing the soil type?

Cheap potting soil works fine for most people, you just overwatered it.

Used to think cheap soil was trash. You changed my mind @spencer_thomas4.
