Shoutout to the guy at the Portland nursery who stopped me from buying a plant that would have taken over my whole yard.

My buddy's mint patch now covers half his patio.

That's why you always ask. Ryan_nguyen's buddy learned the hard way with mint. Some plants are just too aggressive for a normal yard.

Containers are the only way to go with aggressive stuff like mint, bamboo, or even some mints. You can sink a pot into the ground to keep it from spreading, but make sure there's no drainage holes at the bottom or roots will find their way out. I've had friends who thought they could just plant mint in a corner and it would stay put. Next thing you know, it's popping up in the lawn and the neighbor's flower bed. Some plants need boundaries, literally.
