Shoutout to the old timer who showed me why I keep killing my peace lily

Kept overwatering mine for months and couldn't figure out why the leaves kept yellowing until a guy at the nursery said to stick my finger in the soil past the second knuckle before watering. Since I started doing that last August, it's finally pushed out four new leaves.

Finger test is overrated. Peace lilies actually like consistent moisture, so waiting that long between waterings is just stressing the roots out.
