Unpopular opinion: I used to think moss was just a pest until I saw a bryophyte exhibit at the local nature center

I always saw moss as this slimy stuff ruining my garden paths, but last Saturday I stopped by the Oakwood Nature Center and they had this huge display on bryophytes. Turns out there are over 12,000 species of moss and some can survive in space-like conditions. My mind was blown. Has anyone else had a plant they hated turn into a new obsession?
