Unpopular opinion: letting houseplants dry out completely is overhyped
I see people all the time saying wait until the soil is bone dry before watering again. Tried that with my pothos and it drooped for 2 weeks straight. I water mine when the top inch feels dry and they thrive way better now. My spider plant even put out 3 babies last month with this method. Anyone else have plants that just hate the dry-out trend?

Wait, is this really THAT big of a deal? I mean, plants are hardy things, they bounce back from a little droop. My mom's pothos gets watered whenever she remembers, and it's been fine for years.

ngl I was one of those "let it dry out completely" people for the longest time. Thought I was doing it right until I tried watering my calathea when the top inch was dry and it finally stopped throwing a fit every other week. My monstera too, it put out way bigger leaves after I stopped letting it get bone dry. Kinda wild how much happier they are with a little more consistent moisture.
