My brother-in-law, a retired union guy, just asked me why we still mix full batches of mortar in this heat after his buddy got rushed to the hospital.

He said, 'That heatstroke wasn't from the sun, it was from the steam coming off that mixer,' and now I'm rethinking every summer pour over 90 degrees.

He's got a point. That steam is no joke, it's like working in a sauna. Makes you wonder why we still do things the old way.

Tbh at this point they should just hand out towels and call it a free spa day. Ngl though, I'd rather sweat on my own time than pass out next to a mixer.

Yeah that steam comment hits home, we had a guy get dizzy just from standing near the mixer last week. @lily_craig is right about the old ways needing a change, it's just too dangerous in this heat.
