Rant: That time a job site sprinkler system soaked a whole day of brickwork
Was working on a patio wall in Portland last summer, and the homeowner's automatic sprinklers kicked on right at 6am... drenched all my mortar and half the bricks before I could shut it off. That stuff was on a timer nobody warned me about. Had to tear out a whole course that had set uneven from the moisture. Ever deal with surprise water on a site? How do you handle it if the homeowner won't lock out their system?

And people wonder why we show up grumpy before coffee. Had a similar thing happen with a mister system on a covered porch once, ruined a full day of pointing. Honestly, you gotta put a sign on the timer box or threaten to disconnect it yourself. If they won't cooperate, start packing up early and bill them for the wasted time.

Skepticism meter is pegged here. Is forgetting to turn off a mister really the end of the world even if it soaked your gear for a minute. You could just say hey boss I left your timer on by mistake and move on with your day.
