Showerthought: Saw a brick wall in a mall that was totally fake

Was at the Galleria mall in Houston last weekend with my wife and stopped to stare at this brick wall... turns out it's just painted foam. Someone went through all that trouble to make it look real but didn't even match the mortar lines right. I stood there for like 5 minutes pointing out the flaws to my wife, she was not impressed. Has anyone else spotted fake brickwork that just makes you cringe?

It's like the whole world is just a movie set now, everything's painted concrete and fake wood veneer, and we're the only ones who notice because we actually look at stuff.

Man I feel this. What worked for me was actually taking a photo of the bad mortar lines and zooming in to show my wife the gaps and mismatched colors. It got her interested because she could actually see what I was talking about. Now she points out bad fake brick before I even notice it haha. Have you seen those textured wallpaper bricks people put in basements? Those are even worse.
