Spent 3 weeks fighting a crooked garden wall in my backyard until my neighbor pointed out my level was off
I was laying a 12 foot garden wall out back in Maple Grove and kept chasing the bubble, tearing out courses and relaying them like an idiot. My neighbor Ron, who did masonry for 22 years, grabbed my 4 foot level, flipped it around on the same brick, and the bubble sat on the other side of the line, so the thing had been lying to me the whole time. How often do you guys check your levels against a known flat surface, and is it worth buying a good one or just replacing the cheap ones every couple years?
