Switched from a wood hawk to a fiberglass handle last month, my elbow finally quit complaining
Been using the same wood handled trowel for about 8 years. Got a bad case of tendonitis in my right elbow last spring. A older guy on a job in Denver let me try his Marshalltown fiberglass handle for a day. The vibration difference was night and day. My elbow stopped throbbing after a week. Anyone else made that switch and noticed a difference?

Gonna play devil's advocate here and say I think some folks are making too big a deal out of this. @kair65 you swapped handles and your tennis elbow vanished, but I've been using the same wood handle trowel for 12 years now and my arm feels fine. Maybe it's more about how you grip the thing or the angle you're holding it at rather than the material itself.

8 years on one trowel? That's a crazy long time for the same wood handle, mine usually start splitting after 3 or 4. I switched to a fiberglass Marshalltown maybe 3 months ago and it fixed my tennis elbow too, no joke the vibration dampening is incredible. Never going back to wood after that.
