That Tuesday where everything that could go wrong did

Last summer I had a day on the job site in Portland that was just cursed. Started with my mortar mixer breaking down around 9am, then I realized I grabbed the wrong color mortar mix from the supply house. By noon I had dropped a whole pallet of bricks off the scaffold, luckily nobody was under it. The worst part was when the homeowner came out to ask how things were going and I had to tell her we hadn't laid a single brick yet. I ended up working until 8pm just to make up some ground, and my back felt it for three days after. Has anyone else had a day where you just should have packed up and went home?

Man, that Portland day sounds brutal. Glad nobody got hurt under that scaffold.

Read that same story on a local news site earlier. They said the wind was gusting up to 50 mph when that scaffolding let go. Must have been terrifying for the workers up there, dangling and trying to get down safe. It's wild how fast weather can turn a normal work day into a life or death situation. Those guys probably went home and hugged their families extra tight that night.
