Wasted $400 on a cheap mixer that burned out after 3 months

Bought one of those off-brand mortar mixers from an online surplus place to save cash. The gearbox seized up mid-pour on a patio job, and the company wouldn't even honor the warranty. Any of you guys had luck with a decent mid-range mixer that won't crap out?

Oh man, same thing happened to me with a no-name brand from a liquidation website. Lasted maybe two full bags of concrete before the motor started smoking and the drum wouldn't even turn. Wasted a whole Saturday getting it to the dump because they wouldn't take returns.

Brought mine camping once (don't ask) and it doubled as a fire pit after it seized up.
