Bought a $7 rice cooker attachment, now my beans are never mushy

Ngl I was skeptical about a cheap steamer basket for my Instant Pot, but it nails the texture every time. Does anyone else have a small gadget under $10 that actually upgraded their cheap meals?

Rice cookers already steam beans fine without an extra basket, so that $7 attachment is doing less work than you think. The real trick is soaking your beans overnight and adding a pinch of baking soda to the pot. That softens the skins way more than any steamer basket ever will. What you're probably seeing is the pressure cooker doing its job, not the gadget. Still, if it makes you happy and you eat more beans, that's a win. Just don't give the basket all the credit.
