Changed my mind about those fancy spice blends
I used to think spending $8 on a premade taco seasoning mix was just throwing money away. Always mixed my own cumin, chili powder, and garlic for way less. Then I tried this one brand's adobo blend from the Mexican market last month and it actually saves me time and tastes better. Three meals a week with that stuff means it's cheaper than buying five separate jars that go stale. Plus the blend costs less than $5 and lasts me two weeks easy. Has anyone else had that moment where you realize the convenience actually works out in the budget?

Buddy of mine used to be the same way with Italian seasoning. Refused to buy the premixed stuff, insisted on drying his own oregano from the garden and blending it with basil from the farmer's market. It tasted good but man it took him like an hour every Sunday. Then his wife bought a $4 jar at Aldi and he admitted after a month that he'd been wasting his time. The store blend was actually more consistent and he wasn't sweating over a mortar and pestle on his day off.

@jake_dixon that story about his wife hitting Aldi is exactly what happened to me with adobo. What took you the longest to admit was better - the taste difference or the time savings? For me it was definitely the time, I was stubborn about thinking my homemade mix was way better but the preblended one just hits different every time.
