Frozen veggie stir fry beat my fresh produce habit
I used to roll my eyes at frozen peppers and broccoli, thinking fresh was always better. Then I tried a bag of mixed stir fry veggies from Aldi for $1.89 and cooked it with soy sauce and garlic. The texture was actually fine, and I didn't have to toss out half the bag when it went slimy three days later. That was about 2 months ago, and now I keep two bags in the freezer for lazy weeknights. Anyone else have a frozen ingredient they swore against that turned out to be a lifesaver?
Did you notice the frozen stuff holds up way better in soups and stuff too? Honestly I was the same way, thought frozen was just a sad backup plan but now I grab the big bags at Costco every trip. The no-waste thing is what really got me, fresh stuff was basically a race against the clock.
