It took me 3 months to figure out my $1.25 bean pot was ruining dinner
Back in 2021 I was broke and trying to eat on $30 a week, so I bought a cheap aluminum pot from the dollar store near my place in Akron for $1.25. The beans kept coming out crunchy in the middle no matter how long I soaked them, and I blamed the beans, my stove, even the water. Turned out the pot had a warped bottom that sat uneven on the burner, so half the heat leaked out the sides. I finally noticed it when I set the pot on the counter and it spun around like a top, 3 months of wasted batches and soggy rice dinners later. Anyone else stuck with a cheap pot way longer than they should have?
