I've been wasting money on fresh herbs for years without realizing it
The tip-off was finding a dried-out, $4 pack of cilantro in my fridge for the third week in a row. I finally bought a $2 windowsill basil plant and it's already saved me more than that. Anyone have other cheap herb tricks that actually work?

It's funny how we accept these small money drains as normal. I've started keeping a jar of water on the counter for parsley and cilantro stems, like cut flowers. They stay crisp for over a week. The real shift was seeing my grocery list get shorter once I stopped buying things that just die in the drawer.

That "small money drains" line really hit me after reading a piece on kitchen waste.
