My $5 potato masher is the best kitchen buy I ever made

I used to just use a fork and it took forever and made a mess. This cheap tool from the grocery store makes perfect mashed potatoes in like 2 minutes. What's your favorite cheap kitchen tool that actually works?

Honestly a good bench scraper changed everything for me. I mean, it sounds so basic but it's not just for cleaning the cutting board. I use it to scoop up chopped veggies, divide dough, even to lift a whole batch of onions right into the pan. It keeps things moving fast and nothing gets left behind. Maybe it's just me but I feel lost without it now.

Totally agree on the microplane. Mine is covered in garlic bits right now. Used to hate mincing ginger until I got one. It makes everything so much faster and the flavor really does disappear into the dish. Best five bucks I ever spent at a kitchen store.
