My mom said dried beans cost pennies, and I laughed at her for 3 years
She was right, and last week I made 6 meals of black bean soup for $2.14 total instead of buying the $1.29 cans, so what's the one old school tip you ignored way too long before giving in?
its kinda wild how often the cheap old way actually wins once you do the math. my grandma used to save bacon grease in a coffee can and i thought it was so gross until i started cooking with it and now i get why she never threw anything out. the whole thing with beans and grease and leftovers is that we got sold on convenience being worth the extra money, but half the time you're just paying more for less food. idk maybe it's just me but once you start noticing that pattern you see it everywhere, like with cleaning stuff or coffee or whatever. feels like the odds are good your mom was right about a lot of stuff you rolled your eyes at.
