Shoutout to my 2 dollar bag of lentils after my freezer died
I came home from work to find my freezer had thawed, ruining a whole chicken I'd planned to use, so I grabbed a bag of lentils I bought for 2 bucks and made a huge pot of soup with some carrots and an onion, and honestly, it might have been better. Anyone have a good recipe for when your main ingredient plan falls apart?

Lentil soup sounds like a sad downgrade from a proper roast chicken dinner, though.

Wait, you think roast chicken is the proper dinner? That's like saying a truck is better than a sports car just because it's bigger. A good lentil soup has so much going on, like carrots and celery and spices. It's not just some sad brown water. Chicken can be dry and boring if you don't do it right.
