The $1.99 grocery store chicken had a surprise inside
I was at the Food Mart in Springfield yesterday, digging through the discount meat bin like I always do. I found a whole chicken marked down to $1.99 because it was close to the sell-by date. Score, right? Got it home, opened the package, and started to rinse it. My hand brushed against something lumpy and hard inside the cavity. I pulled out a sealed plastic bag, but it wasn't the giblets. It was a single, sad, frozen corn dog. Just sitting there in the raw chicken. I have no idea how it got in there, if it was a weird packing plant mistake or what. I still cooked the chicken, but I kept looking at that corn dog on the counter. Has anyone else ever found something truly bizarre in their budget groceries?

That corn dog was the chicken's last meal.

Honestly my brain just short circuits sometimes. Saw a chicken nugget shaped like a state once and spent five minutes trying to figure out if it was Ohio. The corn dog chicken theory tracks with my general logic.

Corn dogs are made from hot dogs, not chicken.
