Tried a new approach with leftover vegetables and it paid off

I used to toss out veggies that were starting to go soft. Now, I chop them up and freeze them for future soups. This small change means I waste less food and always have a base for broth. My weekly food spending dropped a bit, and I feel good about reducing waste. It's a simple shift with real benefits.

Remember how my friend was always complaining about throwing out produce? She started doing the freezer soup bag thing last month and said her grocery bill actually went down, plus she doesn't feel as guilty about waste now. It's cool how one small idea can actually stick.

There was a piece in some cooking blog about this exact trick. The writer claimed it cuts down on trips to the store too. Seems like common sense once you hear about it.

Seriously? I get the idea, but in my experience it just makes for sad soup. Tried it with peppers and onions last winter, and everything came out with that weird freezer-burned texture. Some things just don't bounce back after being frozen raw. My celery turned to mush. It feels less like saving food and more like delaying the guilt trip until you actually cook it.
