Can we talk about the $35 I spent on a universal sink stopper in Rome?
I used to pack a full laundry kit for trips, but that little rubber stopper saved me from a $50 hotel laundry bill last fall. It fit any sink and let me wash my clothes in the room... the hostel had a broken machine and I was down to my last clean shirt. That thing paid for itself on day two. Anyone have a better trick for doing laundry on the road without a machine?

Packing a few dry shampoo sheets is my go-to for freshening up clothes between washes. I'll rub one on shirt collars or underarms to buy an extra day. For socks, I sometimes just rinse them with hand soap and hang them over the AC vent overnight. It's not perfect, but it works in a pinch when you're stuck without any real options.

The AC vent trick is smart, @aaron_wilson17. I've done the soap rinse for socks too, it's a real lifesaver.

Tried the soap rinse on socks myself during a long trip where I had no laundry access. Worked better than I expected, especially after wringing them out in a towel first. Ngl it's a solid trick for anyone stuck without a washing machine for a few days.
