Heads up: Booking bus tickets through third party sites cost me big in Bogota
I was trying to save $12 on a bus from Bogota to Medellin and used a site called BusBud instead of the official company. Got to the terminal and my ticket wasn't in their system at all. Had to buy a new ticket on the spot for $45 because they were almost sold out. Anyone else get burned by a third party booking site while traveling?

Oh man, that is SUCH a bummer. Did you at least get a cool story out of it? I once booked a "direct" bus from Cusco to Lima through a third party and ended up on a 22 hour ride with a live chicken in the seat next to me. So I guess I saved like $8 but got a free pet for the trip. Honestly, these sites are always more trouble than they're worth, I learned that lesson the HARD way.
