My cousin swore by hostel kitchens, I laughed until Lisbon
He kept saying cook one meal a day and you save enough for a real hotel night. Tried it for 4 days at a Hostel in Lisbon, spent 12 euros total on groceries instead of 40 on restaurants. Anyone else actually lean on hostel kitchens or is that just too much work on vacation?

Read somewhere that hostel kitchens are a total gamble, half the time the stove's busted or someone steals your pasta.
