PSA: Hostel vs AirBNB in Lisbon saved me $380 last month
I had to pick between a 8-bed dorm in a hostel for 5 nights or a shared AirBNB room. The AirBNB was $40 more but had a kitchen. So I went with the hostel and used the $40 to buy groceries anyway. Hostel had a kitchen too, I just didn't check. Did I mess up or was the hostel still the better call for meeting people?

Hostel was the better call. You saved money and still met people.

Did you book a private room or just a bunk? I always grab a private room in hostels, it's the perfect middle ground between cheap and not having to deal with snorers. Best part is you still get the social side without the dorm room lottery.
