The $4 airport bus in Lisbon that saved me $38 and a meltdown
Last month I was booking a ride from Lisbon airport to my hostel and the app wanted $42 for a 15 minute trip. A guy in my hostel bunk mentioned the Aerobus costs about $4 and runs every 20 minutes, so I tried it. What got me was finding out the ticket is good for 24 hours on all the city buses and trams too, so I rode it all over for basically nothing. I had budgeted $50 for airport rides alone on that trip and ended up spending $8 total, both directions. The whole thing took 25 minutes and dropped me two blocks from my door. Anyone else find a city where the airport bus beats a taxi this badly? Would love to hear which ones are worth it.
The Aerobus is solid but $4 adds up if you're with a group, since each person needs their own ticket. Three of us took a taxi in Lisbon for about 12 euros total and it was door to door with luggage. For solo travel the bus wins every time though, and that 24 hour pass is a real steal.
